Choose quickly
Choose one day for a first local overview, three days for coast plus one regional outing, the romantic weekend for a slower couples trip, or rainy day when the forecast changes the plan.

A strong first day starts with sunrise and breakfast, slows down for a beach walk and downtown history, leaves the hottest hours flexible, then returns to the water for late-afternoon light and a seafood dinner. Do not build the day around walking the municipal pier: the City currently lists it closed for reconstruction, with reopening now projected for January 2027.
Spend day one learning Flagler Beach at beach-town speed, day two exploring Washington Oaks and the Hammock, and day three choosing one bigger outing—historic St. Augustine to the north or Daytona and Ormond to the south. This sequence minimizes backtracking and leaves room for weather. Verify park notices, pier construction, restaurant hours and beach conditions each morning rather than locking every hour in advance.
A romantic Flagler Beach weekend needs only three anchors: unhurried ocean time, one beautiful shared outing and one dinner planned in advance. Watch sunrise rather than expecting sunset over the Atlantic, explore Washington Oaks together, and reserve Crave's, Next Door or a Palm Coast wine dinner. Leave enough open space for weather, conversation and a slow return to the lodge.
For a short shower, stay local with the Flagler Beach Historical Museum, a long lunch and lodge downtime. For an all-day washout, expand to Palm Coast entertainment or St. Augustine museums after checking tickets and road conditions. Rain is not the main safety test—lightning, wind and flooding are—so leave the beach at the first warning and never shelter under a beach umbrella.
